When is the store open?
Twice is Nice is open 6 days a week from 9 AM - 5 PM; we are closed Sundays. Since we operate with a 100% volunteer staff, we are also closed most major holidays, including Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial and Labor Days, Thanksgiving and the 4th of July. Since we are closely associated with Lakeside Lutheran High School, when the school closes due to inclement weather, Twice is Nice also closes to keep our volunteers and shoppers safe from weather dangers.
Do you accept debit/credit cards?
Currently, we can only accept cash or local check. We have plans to implement debit/credit card capabilities in the near future. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience! There are several ATM machines for cash access in downtown Jefferson.
Do you accept donations?
Absolutely! We depend on the generosity of people like you to donate your new/used, saleable (i.e., clean and working) items to keep our shelves stocked. We accept your donations from 9 AM - 4:30 PM any day the store is open. Bring your items to the rear of the store, look for the door with the "donations here" sign and ring the doorbell. Most often we have volunteers ready to help you unload; if this is of special concern, we encourage you to call before you come to make sure (920-674-6868). We do not currently have the ability to do pick-ups, but you're invited to call to discuss options if you cannot bring in your donation.
What items can you NOT accept?
Items we cannot accept:
- old microwaves
- bunk beds
- large metal desks
- mattresses/box springs
- TVs/computer monitors
- console stereos
- car seats
- gas stoves
- large refrigerators
- non-working appliances, broken or significantly soiled items
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!
Who can be a volunteer at Twice is Nice?
You can be a volunteer at Twice is Nice! Whether it be once a month or once a week, whether it’s taking care of a department, fixing items or clerking, we have a fun, productive opportunity for you to make a real difference. No expertise needed; you’ll get all the training you need. We encourage you to call the store during open hours and ask for a day manager who can set up a time for you to come take a tour and get your volunteering questions answered before you make any commitment! Thanks for thinking about this opportunity.
Another great opportunity to "test-drive" volunteering at the store is to participate at one of our regular "work nights" at the store on the 1st Tuesday and the 3rd Monday of each month. These evening hours run 5-8:30 p.m. and volunteers can come as early as they are available that evening and stay as long as they’re able. No expertise required. You may drop in by rining the rear doorbell but we'd love to be prepared for a new visitor with a call to the store before 5 PM on the night of your visit (though they are rarely canceled, it's also a great idea to call beforehand just to make certain the worknight is on that night).
Do you accept credit cards as payment?
Currently, we can only accept cash or local check. We do have an ATM machine in the store to assist customers who need access to cash to complete their transaction.
how can I find out about special sales?
Our "regular" prices are already much better than retail store prices, it's like a sale on everything every day! We do run occasional special promos, however, such as the last week of the month, when a particular color tag goes to 50% marked prices. We also host a semi-annual bag sale right before our August and March clothing department changeover. To read about those or other specials, our Facebook page typically has the most recent info (a Facebook account is not required to view our always-public FB posts).
Do you have customer service?
Of course! Our friendly and knowledgeable day managers are available to answer your questions while the store is open (Monday-Saturday, 9 am to 5 PM). You can also send us a message via our Facebook page, and we will forward it to the appropriate person as soon as we're able!
